Rawflow had developed a highly innovative infrastructure software used to broadcast live content over the Internet. It was based on peer to peer technology and enabled broadcasters to launch new media channels and cut the cost of streaming over the internet.

Rawflow had global potential and sought an investor that matched its ambitions. The space was also moving very quickly and it was important that the process was conducted as quickly as possible with the minimum disruption to the company.

FirstCapital ran a highly efficient process that targeted top tier venture investors on a global basis. Multiple term sheets were received. Leading venture investor, Benchmark Capital (now Balderton Capital) was selected and moved into a short due diligence period.

Balderton completed a $4mn investment in Rawflow in July 2005, with cash in the bank in just over 3 months from the initial engagement.
