Everyclick is an online fundraising platform which allows users to raise money for over 200,000 UK charities by searching the web, creating a fundraising page, shopping online, send greetings cards or making a direct donation with a credit or debit card. The company was the brainchild of founder Polly Gowers, and was introduced to us by its existing investors, who had worked with us on a previous assignment.

After discussions with both Polly and the Board, we were hired to assist the company with a Series B financing. We focused initially on helping the company to develop its positioning and business strategy. We needed to articulate clear messages to potential investors about what Everyclick does.  While the company was set up as a charitable search engine, it was in the process of migrating to a more exciting, broader platform, which was harder to capture in a few words. The new platform enables consumers to give to any charity in the UK or US through one comprehensive global online payment network for donations, sponsorship, appeals and eGift vouchers, creating new online revenue streams for large charities and enables the long tail of small charities to receive funds online for the first time. With only 2% of charitable giving currently made online, this has the potential to transform charities’ revenue streams.
We helped to refine the business strategy, emphasising importance of developing a B2B proposition which would deliver much faster return on investment than the current consumer focus. We then helped with the financial projections and rollout plans, bringing the breakeven point significantly closer.

In the marketing process, we focused on targeting those investors with an understanding of the charitable sector. We attracted the attention a well-known hedge fund manager with high profile charitable activities, which brought in additional internal funds and a socially focussed fund, enabling the company to raise sufficient funding to take it to profitability.
