Hazel Moore, Chairman and Founder
Before starting FirstCapital, Hazel was Sales Director in London for WI Carr, a leading Far Eastern institutional stockbroker. She moved to London from WI Carr in Hong Kong, where she was Head of Equity Research, specialising in the analysis of telecommunications companies in Asia. She started her career as a research scientist for GEC Marconi. Hazel is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.

Jason Purcell, CEO and Founder
Prior to founding FirstCapital, Jason was a Director of Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS). He raised equity capital for start-up and developing companies in India and Pakistan. Whilst working for Smith New Court (now Merrill Lynch), Jason was a number 1 ranked equity analyst, according to both Extel and Institutional Investor. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and has an MA in Management Studies and Physics from Cambridge University.

John Yeomans, Director
John was previously Head of HSBC TMT corporate finance, which he built to a $120m
global business. Prior to this he gained strategy, marketing, sales and product management experience with Mitel. For 8 years he was a financial/strategy consultant with KPMG and Regis McKenna, a Silicon Valley positioning specialist. John has a starred first class degree in Electrical Sciences from Cambridge University.

Piers Hartland-Swann, Director
Piers joined FirstCapital from MacArthur and Co. Ltd. where he was a Partner. He was previously Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns in Hong Kong, where he led the team that advised China Telecom on their US$1.4bn IPO in 2002. Prior to this, Piers spent 14 years at UBS Warburg, most recently as Head of Asian Telecoms corporate finance in Hong Kong. Before Hong Kong, Piers spent 10 years at UBS in London. Piers graduated with a BSc. in Civil Engineering from King's College, London.

Amer Vohora, Vice-President
Prior to FirstCapital Amer completed the postgraduate Advanced Course in Design, Manufacture and Management (ACDMM) at Cambridge University, where he worked with a number of start up technology companies in a variety of roles. He graduated from Birmingham University with a BEng & BComL degree in Manufacture Engineering and Commerce with Japanese.

Martin Brennan, Associate
Prior to joining FirstCapital, Martin was a management consultant in the Strategy practice at Accenture, specialising in shareholder value analysis and corporate finance. Martin has a First Class BA Honours degree in International Business and Modern Languages from the University of Strathclyde, and holds the Certificate in Corporate Finance and the Diploma in Corporate Finance from the SII/ ICAEW/ CICA.

Zaeem Max Maqsood, Associate
Zaeem was previously at Library House in Cambridge, where he was Product Manager for 'The Gauntlet', a groundbreaking online venture capital assessment tool which led to the largest business competition in the UK. Prior to this he was a web strategy consultant serving clients such as the DTI and the Cabinet Office. Zaeem spent 4 years at Merrill Lynch, London & New York, where he gained the NYSE 'Series 7' registration. He has an MBA from Cambridge, a Certificate in Corporate Finance from the Securities and Investment Institute, an MA from the IoE, London, an MSc. from UCL and a BA, also from UCL where he read Philosophy & Economics.

Bala Krishnan, Associate
Bala joined FirstCapital having recently graduated from London Business School as the Private Equity Scholar in his class with an MBA in Finance & Private Equity. Prior to the MBA, Bala worked for 3 years at London based Advent Venture Partners, where he obtained experience largely in follow-on investing, investment monitoring, investor relations and portfolio accounting. Prior to Advent, Bala qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG London, where he managed advisory engagements for clients in the TMT space.

Jessica Ford, Analyst
Jessica focuses on the healthcare sector. She was previously at the Max Planck Institute-EVA in Leipzig, as a Daimler-Benz Fellow and DAAD Scholar. Before this, she worked in research neuropsychology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. She has a First Class MA in Medical Sciences from Cambridge University, and an AHRC-funded MA with Distinction in Philosophy of Cognitive Science from Sussex University. Jessica speaks fluent French and German.

David Sexton
David Sexton was previously President of Global Markets at Cable and Wireless. He brings to our Advisory Board extensive experience in telecommunications and computer services on both a national and global scale, particularly in marketing, strategy development and business change. Over the past 20 years he has held a range of board level and management positions within the telecommunications industry including C&W and subsidiaries of BT and Mercury Telecommunications. David now holds a number of advisory and non-executive roles with early stage businesses.

Rod Attwooll
Rod Attwooll has a wealth of experience including 25 years as Managing Director of Texas Instruments, Mercury Communications and other interesting technology companies. He brings to our Advisory Board broad knowledge of the electronics sector and specific management skills in Sales, Marketing and Leadership. Rod has spent 8 years working overseas in a multicultural environment and understands the needs of early stage businesses. He has successfully raised funds for a number of start-ups in the Semiconductor, Materials and Internet sectors including Danionics, ES2 and Netcom. Rod currently advises companies on strategic direction and change.

Bob Mann
Bob has spent over 25 years in the Technology industry. Prior to founding Siebel Systems in Europe, he was Vice President for Legent which had revenues of $175m and 500 people in Europe Bob has extensive expertise in building the operations for exceptionally fast-growing software companies.
In the last five years, Bob has been working with European technology companies. He currently holds a number of directorships and advisory positions within the European technology industry and sits on the Technology Advisory Group of Scottish Equity Partners.
