Funding boosts e-government solutions provider

FirstCapital, the corporate finance house that specialises in securing funding for early stage technology companies, has completed a £430,000 business angel funding for Simulacra Media, a leading e-government solutions provider.

Simulacra Media's eXtended Resource Management (XRM) technology is an application framework tailored to the 'Public Information' and knowledge management requirements of e-Government and other learning publishers. The technology extends the model of content management to allow the management of other people's content, onward distribution for delivery via other channels and seamless integration of these streams for end users.

XRM also supports key e-Government, e-learning and digital content XML and metadata standards 'out of the box' and adapts gracefully to changes in these standards as they evolve.

Simulacra Media's clients include the National Curriculum, Channel 4, the College of Law and the Countryside Agency.

Patrick Towell, CEO of Simulacra Media, says, "The capital will allow us to grow the company, bringing new staff on board and taking on large public and private sector projects in the near future."

"Only the best technology companies are raising funding in the current economic environment," said Jason Purcell, CEO of FirstCapital who secured the funding. "Simulacra have strong proprietary technology and a recession-proof public sector client base. They are leaders in their field, and have a very healthy pipeline of work."
