FirstCapital announces two new appointments to board of advisors

FirstCapital extends technology expertise with crucial appointments to Board of AdvisorsCorporate Finance House, FirstCapital, today announced the appointment of two leading senior technologists, David Sexton and Professor Michael Clark, to its Board of Advisors. The board extends FirstCapital's expertise with the two new appointments bringing valuable technological and managerial experiences to bear. The Board of Advisors supports FirstCapital in providing technology expertise and industry advice to assist FirstCapital and its portfolio clients. Jason Purcell, CEO and co-founder of FirstCapital, said the appointments provide "an opportunity to deepen our technology expertise, and to broaden our access to technology networks." David Sexton, ex-president of Global Markets at Cable and Wireless, is an experienced senior executive who has held a range of board level and management positions within major UK PLC's over the past 20 years. He brings to the Advisory Board experience of working within successful start up companies as well as extensive experience in the telecommunications and computer services industries on both a global and national basis. On confirming his appointment to the Board Mr Sexton said: "I am impressed by FirstCapital's research driven approach to technology corporate finance and I am excited by the prospect of working with their clients, who represent some of the most promising early stage companies in the UK." The second appointment, Professor Michael Clark, is currently Principal Technologist for Unilever Research, having previously held senior positions in the electronics industry and government R&D. An Honorary Professor of Physics at the University of Exeter, he has won a string of awards for his achievements in science and technology, including The Queen's Award for Technological Achievement, which he won in both 1979 and 1992. He brings to the Advisory Board extensive experience in materials and semi-conductor research and development as well as proven business and management skills. Michael Clark said, "FirstCapital has built a great reputation for raising capital for technology rich businesses.
