London, 20 May 2010 FirstCapital, the technology investment bank, has advised on an £5m additional equity funding from prestigious international investors for Helveta, the British clean tech pioneer. Cleantech specialist investors, BeCapital and the Carbon Trust join existing backers Albion Ventures, Oxford Capital Partners and Succès Europe. With this additional capital, FirstCapital has now helped secure a total of £8m equity funding for Helveta since 2008 , despite the turmoil in the capital markets. Helveta’s supply chain intelligence software, CI World™, enables organisations in the timber industry to provide full traceability for goods throughout the supply chain. It is already used to monitor more than 2.7m hectares of forest across the Congo and Amazon basins and in South East Asia.
